I think it's fine to record me if I'm giving a talk and have
consented to being on video.  If I'm quietly sitting in the
audience, though, what possible value is there to film me?

I don't know what "no video" areas would look like but it
sounds a little to me like "if you don't like having your
crotch grabbed by random street urchins, don't go to
third-world countries, and also please consider sitting in
this trash can over here."

Signs saying "your audio will be streamed live even if
talks are not going on" would be helpful in reminding me
not to speak anywhere there's a microphone, but again,
I think the harm of this recording outweights the good
(which I believe to be nil).
