True. But a client speaking the network protocols that are part and
parcel of how it gets work done is appropriate.
Should a mail client incorporate a text editor, a spell checker, a
full-blown addressbook, todo list and organizer? Hell no. Should it have
basic SMTP support so it can send mail? Hell yes. Does that preclude people
from using an MTA with said client? Hell no. It is possible to put in basic
support and then have the author say "Sorry, if you want more, install an
MTA."
