actualy not, i am indeed building all architectures (and even multiple
distributions) from the same config tree.

each of my configs (client-gnome, server-lxc, standard), the common
thing is that they all require the same live-build version, but
otherwise, all architectures and all distributions (stable,
stable-backports, unstable) are build from the per flavour specific
config tree.

while this is nice to keep everything that belongs together (per
flavour) in one place centrally, i do agree (and this is what i think
Ben was going for) that this is quite fragile and should probably not be
the standard recommendation.
