We should not waste the momentum. Yes and No. Experts know their fields, but this does not imply they are good translators. I know I invested a lot of time translating the description when they were proper wml content and I hope they got included in the DDTP, and I can tell you that I searched on pages by experts who only used the English terms despiting the availablility of proper German ones. For me, the ideal situation (and this was handled this way in the German team, at least for some time) would be the combination of an experts ("please explain what this means", "is this the proper phrase in XXX"?) with experienced translators. But the DDTP is anyhow a great experiment in mass translation, so we might try it as well.
