In most case the libraries are unmodified, and it's not too hard to
provide an option to use libraries provided by the system (this is the
case for liblas). I'll have a look at some of the others.
However, some libraries: ITK (libinsighttoolkit3.18) and ossim
(libossim1) are modified internally. We try to reduce the diff with
the official version as much as possible (pushing the changes
upstream) but we depend too much on them to wait for the release of
the package.
