I didn't argue whether ip has more features. I claimed that to say the
documentation for ip is sufficient because one can guess how to do basic
network configuration is silly. The driving force for ip is the advanced
functionality, which is effectively inaccessible because of the woefully
inadequate documentation. Complaining about people using the horribly
out of fashion ifconfig command is silly until some real effort has been
put into making ip an accesible alternative.
