Agreed.
I don't think the built-in help is very friendly to experienced
users, let along new users either.
However, when the man page (cited previously on this thread) gets
installed in the iproute package (there is a bug report on this), this
will somewhat improve the documentation (IMHO).
Updating all the how-tos, etc, is a matter for the respective authors.
It shouldn't be too hard either, the syntax isn't really all that
different.
