If it is too difficult for you to make a variant of one logo to produce a
similar, but distinct logo for official purpose, maybe you should not
participate in the contest. I am sure there are people who can do it.

We don't want to restrict creativity by making more and more rules, do we?

No. It is Debian. We have Debian GNU/Linux for our Linux distribution, and
we have Debian GNU/Hurd for our upcoming Hurd release.

Our bug tracking system is called BTS, our new packaging tool aptr, our old
packaging tool dselect and the back end dpkg.

We have four hundred developers, named John, Joey, Billy and Jonny.

All this together is Debian. On the whole GIMP pages, I can't find a single
mentioning of Debian GNU/Linux, only Debian.

You see? It is not saying "Debian GNU/Linux", but "Debian".

But this is strange. I think I remember reading something along the lines of
"Debian is not just Linux anymore". Have they changed the web page, or did I
read it elsewhere?
