it could, depends on your needs. for me I needed mysql 3.23.x because
of some new table support or something(I forget, newer apps wanted it
though). BUT, the perl modules and php stuff used to connect to the
database didn't have to be upgraded. Actually I think it was just perl
not php, so in my case it was pretty painless. I didn't change the
apache at all, just told the web "apps" to connect to another machine.
(which they did through a ssl tunnel)
