Hmm, one thing I haven't notice before : yours is recognized as a
PowerBook GA 17" and mine as an "Unknown Intrepid-based"...

No nothing about cpufreq in kernel logs, I have also try with a 2.6.7
vanilla kernel with the same result, so the problem does'nt seems to
come from the Debian kernel package.
