Hello Lou,
I tried the "debug=1" via the Splash screen and no additional
nor additional delay in speed of the error messages being
displayed. Still very fast cannot really see the messages,
just fragments of messages due to speed of and return to
initial Splash screen.
I have discovered the two Splash boot menu items fail:
Debian GNU/Linux Live (kernel 4.19.0-5-amd64)
Debian Live with Localisation Support
Both fail with same very fast and appears the same error
messages returning to the initial Splash screen.
Only the three "Installer" Splash menus boot with no issues nor
error messages.
I become "creative".
Creative one is the messages and error are:
Loading /live/vmlinuz-4.19.0-5-amd64... ok
Loading /live/initrd.img-4.19.0-5-amd64...ok
Booting kernel failed: Invalid argument
Additional creative attempts are:
Only using boot=live and no additional boot parameters other
than .linux and initrd still same messages as noted above.
Other combinations of the grub boot command options were tried
with the same messages as above.
It would be my considered opinion I have enough details and
tests to open at least one bug based on all the information and
ideas suggested that do not resolve this bug I have with two
different Lenovo machines (laptop and desktop).
I will be busy for next day or two. This means my time and
attention will be even more spotty than the past 24+ hours.
