Everything is failing on i386 with
/usr/bin/ld: -r and -pie may not be used together
on arm64 with
/usr/bin/ld.gold: fatal error: -pie and -r are incompatible
and then on amd64 we have occasional things like
/usr/bin/ld: dist-ghc/build/Text/Password/Strength_hsc_make.o: relocation R_X86_64_32 against `.rodata' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC
Which patch are we talking about?
