But should it be so unstable that we are just randomly uploading
packages?  Right now we have no concrete plan.  We don't know whether
Christian's replacement of the gnome-terminal package with the GNOME 2
version in unstable was deliberate or not.  Or at least I don't.  And as
the maintainer of the GNOME metapackage, I would like to be kept in the
loop...

Here's an idea: instead of replacing GNOME 1.4 with GNOME 2 in unstable,
let's do it in experimental.  This will give us a chance to coordinate
our uploads.

(And again, despite the fact that we call it "unstable", I know many
people who run it as their daily working desktop environment.  These
people are our first line of testers, and are often technically oriented
and able to report bugs well.  I have a feeling that just dropping GNOME
1.4 without even an attempt at keeping many of their desktop settings
will alienate not a few of them...)
