An excellent point, and one worth stating in big, bold letters on
nm.debian.org.  NM is not meant to be a training program, but a
certification process of sorts.  A "final exam" indeed.

The ad hoc sponsorship system, however, should provide a sufficient training
ground for someone with sufficient technical background and commitment.
This depends entirely on the sponsor, however.
