Then I suggest someone with more authority to get something done start on
it - or that everyone who is of this opinion prepares to face the natural
results of it's implementation.

I offered a solution to a problem I perceived. Since it has been made most
abundantly clear that the message has been lost for the sake of the bearer,
I will stop trying to say it.

I'll be over on the BSD port list, where folks actually have some reason to
value the contributions I have any ability to make. If professional release
management experience isn't good enough to qualify someone to comment on
the issues with Debian, I don't think I want to know what is.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know how many Debian developers are part of
the Perl5, or Perl6, development groups? (Randall Schwartz had some very
interesting commentary on the differences, and I'm curious as to whether
there is a correlation of any sort).
