#. Type: select
#. Description
msgid ""
"Please select the closest Debian mirror, relatively to network
topology, not "
"necessarily to geographical reasons."
msgstr ""
Bad English. Try this instead:
"Please select the closest Debian mirror (according to network topology;
not necessarily the closest geographically)."
#. Type: select
#. Description
msgid ""
"Please choose the disk which has the free space required (column Free) to "
"install Debian GNU/Linux. If there's not enough free space, space can be "
"liberated by resizing the FAT partitions (column FreeFat indicates how
much "
"space will be freed by resizing the existing fat partitions)."
msgstr ""
In the last sentence, it needs to say "the existing FAT partitions", not
"the existing fat partitions". ("fat" is an English word, meaning
something different...) Ideally "FreeFat" would be "FreeFAT" as well.
#. Type: select
#. Description
msgid " Device Model Size Free FreeFat NbPart"
msgstr ""
Ideally, FreeFat would be FreeFAT, as above.
#. Type: error
#. Description
msgid "Invalid Release file, no valid components."
msgstr ""
Better to replace the comma (,) with a colon (:), though it's not critical.
msgid "Invalid Release file: no valid components."
#. Type: error
#. Description
msgid "Invalid Release file, no entry for ${SUBST0}."
msgstr ""
As above.
#. Type: select
#. Description
msgid ""
"Please select one of the following actions to configure the Logical
Volumes "
"(LV)."
msgstr ""
There should be only one space between "the" and "Logical".
#. Type: select
#. Description
msgid ""
"The information shown is, in turn: device name, size, file system, and
mount "
"point."
msgstr ""
Using "in turn" is wrong here; you want "in order".
"The information shown is, in order: device name...."
#. Type: string

msgid ""
"The standard TCP/IP server name on VM is TCPIP, on VIF it's $TCPIP. Note: "
"IUCV must be enabled in the VM user directory for this driver to work
and it "
"must be set up on both ends of the communication."
msgstr ""
Comma splice. You want
"The standard TCP/IP server name on VM is TCPIP; on VIF it's $TCPIP.
Note: "

msgid ""
"Yaboot (the Linux boot loader) needs to be installed on a hard disk "
"partition in order for your system to be bootable. Please choose the "
"destination partition among these \"Apple_Bootstrap\" partitions."
msgstr ""
Extra space between choose and the: should be "Please choose the"
Should be "Please choose the destination partition from among these..."
(Without the 'from' it doesn't really parse.)
#. Type: note

msgid ""
"The root filesystem is a RAM disc. The hard disc file systems are
mounted on "
"\"/target\". The editor available to you is nano. It's very small and
easy "
"to figure out. To get an idea of what Unix utilities are available to
you, "
"run \"ls /bin /sbin /usr/bin /usr/sbin\"."
msgstr ""
Not *really* an error, but doesn't everyone use the "disk" spelling
these days, rather than the "disc" spelling?
---------
There are others which could be improved, but they'd all need to be
rewritten, and they're basically OK as is. These are the ones I'd be
embarassed to release with. I would expect that no changes in other
languages' translations would be necessary for most of these, assuming
the translators have good command of their own languages.
I did notice these:

"Please choose the interface you want to configure. All currently detected "
"interfaces on your system are shown below. Please choose the type of your "
"primary network interface. This interface will be used for installing the "
"Debian system (via NFS or HTTP)."
msgstr ""
The term 'interface' is rather technical and obscure to newbies (I
remember going 'what the *&$* is an interface?'), and no synonym or
definition is given. Is there some way to make this clearer? This
occurs elsewhere as well. Perhaps "interface (networking card)" or
"type of network interface (connection)" or something????
This message has some other problems: Are you choosing the interface
you want to configure, or the *type* of your primary network interface?
It apparently asks you to do both in one message.
#. Type: error
#. Description
msgid ""
"Please check the error log on the third console or /var/log/messages for "
"more information."
msgstr ""
In keeping with the other messages which discuss things like this, it
should probably say "...on the third console (ALT-F3) or..."
or something similar telling how to get the third console (if it's at
all straightforward on the architecture this message is for).

"The device ${device} seems to be an already low-level formatted disk.

"recommended."
msgstr ""
Why mention 2.4 specifically??
