Re: kernel-image packages for alpha in need of testing

Thus spake Steve Langasek:

Actually, mine would always hang before loading the NIC modules. It
acts like it's recognizing and scanning the NIC's onboard bridge before
it knows that it's part of a NIC.

Just grabbed again (date on the file is 13 June at 13:50), and I get the
same results:

P00>>>set EWB0_PROTOCOLS BOOTP

At that point, it just hangs and nothing further happens. (The 21152
chip is on the NIC in question). If I remove the NIC and boot with the
cdrom image (I tried netbooting from the onboard 21040, but for some
reason it wouldn't work, so I had to waste another CD-R after all :), it
actually finishes booting. Messages from a boot (without the NIC)

Were it offered to my choice, I should have no objection to a
repetition of the same life from its beginning, only asking the
advantages authors have in a second edition to correct some faults in
the first. - Benjamin Franklin
