I would have to disagree on this point.  As far as I can tell,  the
command line hasn't disappeared at all.  Any time you want, you can drop
into the command line, do the things you want, then go back into the
"wizard" mode (or not).  How has making the installer more (user|noob)
friendly really hurt the power you have during installing?  I think the
new debian installer is fantastic progress, and my hat's off to the
folks that did it (thanks Joey!).
