intel 3D



On my laptop I have squeeze installed, with 3d/hardware acceleration, but it 
seems not to help much. I'm wondering if there could be something mis-configured 
or is this just the best my hardware can do.

It is a dell Inspiron 1420N (came pre-installed with ubuntu 2-3 years ago).

In glxgears I get about 300 FPS with the smallish window it lauches, if I 
maximize the window I get around 100 FPS.

I reduced the color depth to 16 bps after googling for advice, this helped some, 
previously with the glx gears window maxmized I got around 60 FPS.

You can see in the glxinfo below, that it recognizes the hardware, but lower 
down you see either "None" or "Slow". Thanks.
