An example of a citation would be what GNOME packages you can't remove even if you decide to go completely over to KDE.
I did this last night and as best I can tell, there's nothing gtk or gnome left on my system. How can I tell ?? Very unscientifically, actually. Nothing with "gnome" or "gtk" in the package names shows up when I do 'dpkg --get-selections'. I also checked many packages that start with "g". I'm not done with this yet.
Speaking of glib, I thought it was gtk/gnome related but according to 'apt-cache show glib(whatever)', it's not. So I left it installed.
