in the meantime, i'll post just the changes (to conserve
bandwidth) to my /etc/exim/exim.conf:

	qualify_domain = pcisys.net

	local_domains = localhost:cls210:pplaw

	smtp_accept_queue_per_connection = 1000

everything else is default.

key:

   "pcisys.net" is my isp.

   "cls210" is my debian system name.

   "pplaw" is my email name (by which my isp knows me).

   (the "1000" could really be even bigger. i just forgot
   how to set it to be unlimited.)
