Well, it was this file, FWIW:

which, according to file, is a "PDF document, version 1.2" Dunno how to
get the mime type, but I imagine it's application/pdf since that's the
only mimetype the pdf netscape/mozilla plugin claims to be registered
for (the file opens with the pdf plugin in mozilla).
