Solange sie in irgendeiner Weise gültig sind. Aber die CDDL und die GPL
sind inkompatibel. Dies sagt:
- FSF als Autor der GPL [1] (die sollten es wissen, auch wenn Jörg sagt er
weiß es besser und die FSF kann ihren eigenen Text nicht verstehen [2])
- (ehemalige) Miarbeiter von Sun die maßgeblich an der Entwicklung der
CDDL mitgewirkt haben [3]
- diverse andere Postings, eg [4]
Nun. Hier stehen wir:
Jörg: Alles paletti, es passt wie es passt. Und wenn die FSF sagt dass
die GPL nicht mit der CDDL zusammenpasst, dann wissen sie nicht wovon
sie reden [2]. Und außerdem ist es eine OSI approved license (dies ist
aber Debian ziemlich egal). Und schlussendlich, die Debian Leute kennen
ihre eigenen DFSG nicht: Zitat aus [5]:
"The Debian people should just read their DFSG rules and try to
understand them.... "
Debian: Wir halten uns an die DFSG, und damit kann diese Mischung nicht
in Debian bleiben.

Ich glaube wenn einer den thread ernsthaft liest, dann weiß er wo wer
steht. Und schlussendlich, wer sich nicht die Zeit nehmen möchte, kann
ja mal Jörgs sogenanntes
"proposal that makes sense for now and the future"
[9] lesen. Hier ein paar Gustostückerln draus:
- Throw out Eduard Bloch. He has been the biggest problem for Debian
in the past years.
- Remove the unneeded Debian changes as the unmodified original source
does not need any changes in order to work correctly.
- Find someone to read the original GPL text in depth who did not yet
read the wrong FSF GPL FAQ. Let this person be prepared and willing
to have a serious fact based discussion in case that there are still
any issues to discuss.
- Help me with defending against silly artificial limitations in the
Linux kernel that makes life on Linux hard.
Um es zusammenzufassen: Alle Debian Developer sind dumm. Alle Linux
Kernel Developer sind dumm. Man könnte Jörg fast folgendes Zitat aus
einem anderen Buch zusprechen:
"ICH BIN DER WEG DIE WAHRHEIT UND DAS LEBEN.
AUSSERHALB VON MIR GIBT ES KEIN HEIL"
Genug Zeit verschleudert. Ich melde mich nicht mehr dazu, weil ich
anderes wichtigeres zu tun habe.
