Re: PSIGNIFIT package for fitting psychometric functions

I have now filed an ITP bug (Bug#325671) and changed the changelog so that it

I noticed this.

I cleaned up the rules file and fixed the permissions in the upstream tarball.

Fine.

The textfiles where already in the upstream sources. That's why I saw no
reason to write a README.Debian file.

Where did you obtained your source tarball?

$ wget http://www.bootstrap-software.org/psignifit/distrib-2-5-6/psignifit-2-5-6-tbx.tar.gz
$ tar --list -zf psignifit-2-5-6-tbx.tar.gz | grep -e "\.txt" -e "\.html"
psignifit/psig-src/History.html
psignifit/psig-src/Legal.txt
psignifit/example_data.txt
$ tar --list -zf psignifit_2.5.6.orig.tar.gz | grep -e "\.txt" -e "\.html"
psignifit-2.5.6/batch_strings.txt
psignifit-2.5.6/History.html
psignifit-2.5.6/Legal.txt
psignifit-2.5.6/psych_gloss.txt
psignifit-2.5.6/psych_options.txt
psignifit-2.5.6/standalone-quickstart.html

So the orig.tar.gz contains files which are not included in the tarball I
downloaded at the location you mentioned for download:

	batch_strings.txt
	psych_gloss.txt
	psych_options.txt
	standalone-quickstart.html

I'm much in favour of providing additional docs or examples but it should be
mentioned from where they come from.

Regarding the integration into Debian-Med I think PSIGNIFIT is a research
related program. Therefore I suggest classifying it like that.

OK.

You can find the updated version of the package here
http://apsy.gse.uni-magdeburg.de/~hanke/debian/psignifit/

Well, as Rafael pointed out debian/control should look like this:

   Standards-Version: 3.6.2

Sorry for misleading you. Moreover the developers reference states
in "6.2.4. Upstream home page" To uses a last paragraph like

   Homepage: http://www.bootstrap-software.org

This would be a more unified approach for all package descriptions.

PS: There is another package I made, but no one seems to be interested in. It
is an iptables firewall configuration script which is extremly easy to use
(almost idiot proof). See http://rocky.eld.leidenuniv.nl/
What do you suggest, where I should ask for a sponsor for this package?
I did send a request to debian-mentors but got no reply.

Sorry I would not touch sponsoring things where I would not deal with.
If I were you I would make some noise on debian-devel if debian-mentors
does not respond.

Kind regards and thanks for your work

       Andreas.
