Please don't package/adopt stuff just for the sake of it. But if you use the packages yourself, please go ahead. If you feel you don't want to take over all of them, you can still prepare one-time "QA uploads" to solve some bugs and let the packages still be QA-(non?)-maintained. The later is equally useful.
