Re: Live softphone USB key.: Progress report
That is the purpose of chain loading.
The boot manager on the boot device is not a kernel/initrd combo. its a boot loader. it just has enough smarts to boot the device. it bridges the gap in bios between bios support and bios boot support.
the first load of a kernel is the kernel on the USB stick.

no; kernel+initrd need to match what you have in filesystem.squashfs (to some degree).

- Will this boot CD be useable with all the USB key versions? Maybe with the requirement that all use the same kernel?

- Will it still be possible to specify parameters at boot time?
