In the case of "tu" vs "vous" (in French) I would rather say :
computers are not familiar..:-)
And, btw, french Debian *is* polite ("Veuillez faire ceci", "Veuillez
faire cela"......or "Please do this" or "Lease do that" instead of
imperative form "Do this")
