They will not merge, full stop. So, I have raised the issue on
debian-devel [1], and as I understand the conclusion correctly bundling
*could* be accepted in cases like this.
The bundling situation in described in [2]. We need to have an overall
agreement on this; neither I nor upstream are willing to undertake this
if the requirement is to unbundle the "complicated" libs according to [2]
