Hi all,
getting back on topic, I did get couple of general positive responses.
Would need a detailed proposal soon to push it forward.
That's great.A few ideas that I can suggest would be the following;
  1. Allowing sponsoring organizations to conduct a mini recruitment/internship drive among the participants/speakers. That'd be a win-win proposition for both parties involved.
  2. When the website is designed, we could/should add an option to sponsor the event. This is something that is done in many event websites. It'd be a shame to miss out on someone who is actually willing to sponsor us :\

Somebody needs to make a detailed budget with expenses and incomes
expected so we know how much we would need to raise from sponsorship.
We're working on that at present. However, we can only do the detailed budget once we have a count of the number of speakers and the locations from where they are traveling. No ?

Having such a breakdown would help us to figure out the different
tiers of sponsorship we need to make the event happen.
Very much true.

Also, we need to figure out how many people from Pune are going to the
meet. I'll be going on 16th August to do bookings for the journey. If
some people would be joining from here, that would be nice.
I'd personally like to see some faces from Pune :D

@Harish any dates when the CfP is being thrown open ?
Well, once the website is ready, we can throw the CFP open in the following few days. Ideally, I'd like to see the CFP being open a good two months in advance of the event.
Myself and blucalvin have worked on the CFP text and that is pretty much taken care of. If I'm not wrong, balasankar is doing the CFP/registration form implementation, right ?

Hope all of this goes without much hitch :)

Warm Regards.
