I still think that is disagreeing with thought using /tmp is a bad idea is a good idea and agree with the people who are against.

If you want highly specialized caching write code. If are not sure if the cache is invalidated maybe you should be doing things another way. It's quite complicated bsd about bit off more than they can chew already, considering hardware has similar and complicated paging blocking caching etc etc etc issues hacking these simply isn't a good idea.
