Maybe I just missed it, but *what* applications or *what* problems does .localdomain fix? I don't remember hearing so far that it does anything positive at all. If anybody knows anything at all about a problem .localdomain solves, I would love to hear about it. Never mind the alleged applications that break, I'm more interested in whether there are even two sides to this story in the first place.
