It was the maintainer's job to forward this bug upstream. That he
didn't is lamentable. I don't understand how an automated command
would have done this better.
We certainly don't want to send bugs upstream automatically--only once
the maintainer says "yes, send it upstream", so how would your
proposed feature have helped in this case?
