That's a pretty damn cool idea.  You'd probably want the ability for the
admin to bomb out on it, too -- perhaps he's got his mysql server locked
down so that remote users can't create accounts or databases (that's a
clever admin).

I don't think it's worth it at all.  I'd say the majority of webapps / other
database-liking things don't work with multiple DBMS' anyway.
