Maybe I can contribute to the discussion ;) I really can't stand virtual
desktops. I've been working with virtual workspaces for seven years, and
when gnome2 will be the only alternative around in debian (which is the
last distribution supporting gnome1) I will have two choiches:

1. patch gnome2 myself (but I am pretty sure someone will do)

2. switch back to fvwm

I'm pretty sure I'm missing the spot, so everyone please don't get
angry. I just wanted to show an example feature of gnome1 wich's not in
gnome2, if I am wrong just tell me.
