GRUB compiled with all the support for the PCI NIc plus a patch to allow
this option :
bootp --with-configfile
which tells GRUB, after having initialize the PCI NIC, to query a `menu.lst'
file from the network (the menu displayed as a choice).

Yes. But the above method allows you to use a vanilla floppy for all PCI
NIC.
