Generally speaking, the default should be the best selection.
Only users who want to do some special thing should have to override
it.  Is it a special thing to have a specific native language?  No.

Alternatives mechanism cannot tell what language the user speaks.

And more, alternatives mechanism cannot support many users who speak
different languages.  (Atsuhito pointed out the same problem, too)
