I will add a first-person good experience with RALink chipsets. I personally 
have a rt2570 (USB version) and am quite pleased with it. At the much more 
active development site http://rt2x00.serialmonkey.com they have updated 
drivers from the RALink release. 

One caveat however, is that there have been reports in the forums about PPC64 
support. I gleaned the impression that most of the issues were endianness 
based, but I have only used the driver on x86.
