Matrox cards typically depend on AGP GART support for 3D operation.

ATI cards have so-called "PCI GART" internal hardware, which
essentially subsitutes for the lack of AGP GART hardware in a
motherboard's core logic (AGP is only found on a couple of EV6
machines).

As to Matrox dual head, I've never had such, nor have I heard of such
working on Alpha.

Yes, one of the longer slots. The shorter slots are 32-bit, and behind
a PCI-PCI bridge.

Nope; it was OEMed by us from E&S or some such third party, and as such
docs and code are NOT ours to distribute.
