If you're running Debian testing or unstable, you don't have to go that
far. You can just install the cross toolchain directly from the repos:

$ apt install gcc-5-m68k-linux-gnu

Then Stan just has to set ARCH=m68k CROSS_COMPILE=m68k-linux-gnu- when
run 'make menuconfig' and 'make' to configure and build the kernel.
