Then it's useless administrivia. (And no I'm not talking about Anthony's proposal, like Andi said, here it's the constitution that makes it necessary). > Sometimes I'm tempted to use GRs to try have some official position > statements from Debian on some topics. And the point would be ? Have you an example in mind ? That sounds like a way to impose some views to the project to avoid having to discuss some issues. Damn, it does not sounds like it, you said it was the goal, I get it ! > And at least, they give us some real figures of Debian instead of > unverifiable statements quoting the 'the silent majority' (which > probably exists in most cases, but whose opinion is difficult to > know). Handwaving. If the silent majority wants to oppose an apparent consensus, they should not be silent in the first place. Voting brings decisions into the hands of people that did not necessarily followed discussions, or are unaware of some of the issues. If the decision matters to them, then maybe we should work on a way to be sure that everyone can participate to every choice.... Wait... Doh, it's already the case, debian-devel@ldo is the place. Sorry, I disagree completely here, I think we already have what we need. But maybe we should do a GR about it, just to be sure ? -- ·O· Pierre Habouzit ··O madcoder@debian.org OOO http://www.madism.org
