JFTR, http://www.deb-multimedia.org/ nerfed my system, I spend a
good couple of hours fixing it. The maintainer of
http://www.deb-multimedia.org/ doesn't play nice, e.g. the package
versions are deliberately made higher than the official Debian ones.
