For Xfce I already removed GVFS. I wrote scripts to mount drives by
label and to mount optical drives. That reminds me that I need to write
a script for flash drives too.
I don't know, perhaps it's possible to use udev?!
You could use Thunar + GVFS with openbox. I use(d) Thunar without GVFS
for my JWM, so switching to xfe seems to be an advantage for me.
