An explanation:
Thanks for your report. However there are graphical console depends, they are
against the hplip-gui package. These depends are actually the minimum set for
hplip.
A solution:
If you wish to run a headless print server, we now ship the independent
packages of hpijs and hplip-cups, which do not require the full hplip depends.
