I couldn't agree more. I note that some of these (at best) unhelpful and
(at worst) objectionable responses are from the very person suggesting
the discussion is moved to the offtopic list.
I have no problem with long-winded, unhelpful threads on offtopic, but
I do object to the suggestion that those of us who *do* want to be
helpful are prevented from doing so when the question being asked is
in an area that others find controversial.
