Ideas:1. Pick a motherboard and start a fresh post with the make and model in the subject -- e.g. "MSI H87-43G compatible with Debian 7.1 amd64?". You might get replies from readers who have that exact board and OS.
2. Find a retailer who will agree to assemble the parts you pick for a fee and allow you to install and test whatever OS's you want on their premises prior to making a purchasing decision. (I believe Fry's Electronics charges $50 to assemble a computer and install an OS.)
3. Find a seller who will agree to a full refund within X days if the parts you buy don't work with whatever OS you pick. (You may need to provide or pay shipping one or both ways.)
