Well, from the article it seems to indicate "(sic) you can't have boot on
an LVM volume" with the mentioned setup, maybe that's the reason why the
author leaves /boot out.
Anyway, I don't think that's a good guide to follow given there's no
encryption in place (something you want) and there's a RAID1 layout (that
you can't use). Maybe these other guides will help you better with your
