You are (also) correct.
Turns out there's a number of ways to do that.
What does the "--" do??
Both:-
$ touch "-rf *"
and:-
$ touch -- "-rf *"
work - so "--" doesn't "appear" to do anything, yet it produces no
error. Strange - I'd expect an error at least.
