If you have a 2nd computer, you could run fetchmail and an IMAPd on
it.  Any cast-off PC (with PCI slots, to make configuring easier)
with 64MB RAM and a 4GB disk running a stripped-down Etch is all you
need.

Has she demonstrated the problems to you, or is she really using it
as an excuse for inertia?  (You know her better than I...)

Are there any specialized apps that she needs as a teacher?
