No.

Yes!

All the email stays on the server.  You can use any MUA you please
to view/delete the messages, but they stay on the server.

You'll want to ensure that the mobile client speaks IMAP.

Or install Apache, Squirrelmail & the relevant SSL modules on your
server, and read your email thru your mobile web browser.
