Oliver and Debian Users-

I received from Oliver:

Archive  build  Console  data  doc  HTML  Net  OS  PEAR  pearcmd.php 
PEAR.php  System.php  test  XML

I have looked inside each of these which is a directory and not found
my php.ini file.
I should also note that I have compiled php-5.0.5 on this particular server.
Is there a way to search for files?  "Whereis" only works on the obvious stuff.
